7/12/2010 - New Review from Metal Monthly!: Metal Monthly took some time to review "Asides":

What's better than throwing in 14 tracks on a CD? How about 14 tracks from a kick ass Band ? HELL YEAH. That'll work. And Versed in Grey has most definitely stepped up to the plate with full intentions of making you stand up and take notice. This second release from the Versed in Grey gang takes it's name from the last track 'Asides to My Demons' and rest assured that from first to last, this CD is infused with an exceptional combination of musicianship, lyricism, passion, energy, and an awesome attitude. To say each song is an equal favorite isn't as much a cop out as it is the truth. I really enjoyed everything. And after it was all over. I was ready for more. It's got melody that rocks, as evident in tracks like 'Pathological' and 'Second Sun' and it's got ethereal rockers like 'Abyssus' and 'Eyes of Grace' and it's got power in songs like 'Singularity' and 'Fallen'. This release has something for everyone in a totally polished package of music from a band that is taking 2010 by storm. This really is a must have for anyone that appreciates not only great music, but also a great music experience. You want to FEEL your music ? Feel this. 'Asides to My Demons' by Versed in Grey. Pick it up. Put it on. Crank it up.

6/6/2010 - "Asides To My Demons" Reviewed by Melodic.Net!: Troy Kramm over at Melodic.Net wrote up a review of "Asides":

You can definitely hear their influences in the music of Versed In Grey. They mention the likes of Alice in Chains, Tool and Faith No More as influences in their bio. Not a bad bunch of bands to be influenced by if I say so myself. I would compare them with Alice in Chains out of the bunch. They do however have some very Tool-like bass lines throughout the album. It is a pretty interesting combination, very refreshing actually. Singer Augie Palacio is why I would compare them to a band like Alice in Chains. He has that distinct grunge style that reminded me of one of the greats, Layne Staley. Augie had to be the highlight of the album for me. He isn’t just a gruff snarling grunge vocalist. He has some definite range and displays his melodic style on almost every song. My favorite track on the album is "Lost Again". You have to turn the speakers up all the way at around the 4:10 mark of the song and listen to the guys tear it up during a brief instrumental section, very similar to the style of Tool. Norm Wall provides some excellent guitar work here and on the entire album. The only knocks I really have regarding the band and the album is that they may be a little too "old school" for people. It isn’t what you are going to be hearing on active rock radio a lot. The songs also may be a little long for today’s ADD age. "Asides to My Demons" has enough diversity to keep you going back for more but it can also seem boring at times as songs can blend together. Tracks to check out are "Fallen", "Lost Again", "The Nothing" and "Second Sun". I have to recommend the album but it is going to be for a select few who know exactly what they like.
